Hi, I'm 16 years old and I believe I am facing nyctophobia. I often wake up in the middle of the night sweating profusely and shaking. Once awake, I find myself slowly curling up into a ball in the corner of my bed and scratching. I cannot control my scratching and I normally end up scratching to the point of bleeding, and i simply move where I scratch. I cannot fall asleep without my entire room and hallway outside my room being completely visible. The thing is though is that when I am in a pitch black room with another person, I can easily fall asleep and stay asleep without worry.
