I'm 31 and have been to many doctors, psycs, etc.. Only my first doctor, after trying every antidepression drug out there, finally put me on antianxiety meds. First Klonopin, but that didn't last long enough. Then Xanax, which for me was a godsend. It seemed like it was made for me. After a couple years on it I decided to get off it just to see how I was feeling. In the mean time my doc retired and since then NO ONE will even think about putting me back on it. I was put on Ativan but you may as well put me on a sugar pill and the doc looks at me like I'm looking for drugs. It actually costs more WITH insurance than what I can get it for online. I'd rather have shock therapy or a lobotomy to make this go away. Why is the word "Xanax" so taboo? The only productive years I've had were when I was on it. I never would have gotten off of it if I knew I never would get back on. Plus the internet says it's the most commonly prescribed antianxiety out there.
